Dr. David H. Song is an internationally recognized leader in plastic and reconstructive surgery, serving as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine and Physician Executive Director for MedStar Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Driven by a deep commitment to restoring form and function for complex cancer survivors, Dr. Song has pioneered advanced microsurgical techniques, including perforator-based breast reconstruction and specialized surgery for lymphedema. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed rigorous general surgery and plastic surgery residencies alongside a microsurgery fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Recognizing the broader forces shaping modern medicine, he also earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Dr. Song has held prestigious national leadership roles, including serving as President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Chair of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
