Biography

Born and raised in New Orleans, Dr. Mark W. Stalder holds a deep, personal connection to the Gulf South community he proudly serves. A passionate music fan and dedicated surgeon, Dr. Stalder discovered his calling through an intense fascination with human anatomy and the profound capacity of reconstructive surgery to restore a patient's dignity and quality of life. He earned his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine, where he also completed his general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery residencies, training under master microsurgeons. Seeking further mastery in complex structural challenges, he completed a craniofacial surgery fellowship at the Miami Children's Health System. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Stalder brings elite technical precision to both delicate post-mastectomy breast reconstructions and intricate aesthetic procedures of the face and body. At Stalder Plastic Surgery, located in a beautifully renovated historic building on Magazine Street, he fosters an interactive, compassionate environment. Dr. Stalder believes that an exceptional surgical journey begins with active listening, ensuring every patient feels completely heard, supported, and confident in a tailored treatment plan designed to help them look and feel remarkably renewed.
