Biography

Dr. James Stuzin is one of the most respected names in aesthetic plastic surgery today, with over 47 years of experience devoted to the art and science of facial rejuvenation. Named "America's Best Plastic Surgeon" by Newsweek Magazine in 2021 and 2022, he received the prestigious 2023 ASERF Career Achievement Award in recognition of his lifetime contributions to the field. A true educator at heart, Dr. Stuzin has authored three influential textbooks—including Surgical Rejuvenation of the Face and Facial Danger Zones—and published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. He served as President of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (2007-2008) and has chaired the Baker Gordon Educational Symposium, the oldest cosmetic surgery symposium in the world, for over 20 years. Together with the legendary Dr. Thomas J. Baker, Dr. Stuzin developed the "Extended SMAS" facelift technique, now widely used worldwide. His philosophy, "Beauty Through Mastery," reflects his commitment to achieving natural, beautiful results. The James Stuzin Aesthetic Education Excellence Fund was established by ASERF in his honor.
