Biography

Long before he ever stepped foot inside an operating room, Dr. Henry G. Wells was an accomplished artist who formally studied fine arts and contemplated a career as a medical illustrator. Ultimately channeling that deep creative passion into the surgical sculpting of the human form, he spent more than 25 dedicated years establishing himself as one of Central Kentucky’s most trusted board-certified plastic surgeons. After earning his medical degree from the University of Kentucky and completing his rigorous plastic surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia—where he also served as an Assistant Professor—Dr. Wells returned home to Lexington in 1988 to open his private practice. Throughout his illustrious career, he became nationally recognized for his exquisite attention to facial rejuvenation and transformative body contouring procedures like the Mommy Makeover. Though now retired from active clinical practice, Dr. Wells leaves behind an enduring legacy centered on meticulous surgical precision, natural-looking aesthetic outcomes, and a deeply compassionate, patient-first philosophy. His foundational commitment to clinical excellence continues to guide his namesake practice today.
