Biography

Dr. Brian May is a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of May Plastic Surgery, a boutique practice in Charlotte's SouthPark neighborhood built around a belief most surgeons talk about but few actually live: that the best results come from genuinely listening first. His path to plastic surgery wasn't a straight line. He started out wanting to be a neurosurgeon, shifted course, and ultimately found his calling in aesthetic surgery. That experience of navigating real personal reinvention shapes how he shows up for every patient who walks through his door. Dr. May earned his MD from Duke University School of Medicine and completed his plastic surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. His preferred technique for facial rejuvenation is the high SMAS deep plane composite facelift, which lifts the deeper facial structures rather than just the skin for results that look genuinely natural rather than pulled. He's equally known for rhinoplasty and breast surgery, with a particular focus on revision cases other surgeons shy away from. What patients consistently say is that he makes them feel unhurried.
