Biography

Dr. Alan Matarasso is a nationally and internationally renowned board-certified plastic surgeon based on Park Avenue in Manhattan, with over three decades dedicated exclusively to aesthetic plastic surgery. He currently serves as President of The Plastic Surgery Foundation (2024-2025) and previously led the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as its President in 2019. Graduating magna cum laude from Boston University, Dr. Matarasso earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine before completing surgical training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Hospital, where he rose to Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery. He further refined his skills through a prestigious cosmetic surgery fellowship under the legendary Dr. Thomas D. Rees. A prolific researcher and educator, Dr. Matarasso has authored over 1,000 publications, including 357+ peer-reviewed articles and 86 book chapters. He serves as co-editor of Neligan's Plastic Surgery textbook and was inducted into the Warren B. Davis Circle (PRS Reviewers Hall of Fame) in 2022. Named to New York Magazine's "Best Doctors" list every year since 1996, he treats patients in his elegant Park Avenue office with a focus on natural-looking results.
