Dr. Zachary Filip discovered his deep fascination with plastic surgery during medical school while investigating regenerative and reconstructive biomaterials. Driven by a lifelong passion for science—which included earning recognition as a two-time finalist at the International Science and Engineering Fair—he went on to complete his specialized training in plastic surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center, ultimately serving as Chief Resident. Beyond his clinical credentials, Dr. Filip approaches surgery through the meticulous lens of an artisan. An avid carpenter and woodworker who loves designing functional, enduring pieces, he translates that same structural precision and aesthetic balance into his surgical practice. Whether he is performing complex reconstructive procedures or refined aesthetic enhancements, his core philosophy centers on blending technical rigor with artistic intuition to achieve natural, individualized results. Outside the operating room, Dr. Filip enjoys exploring global culinary arts, traveling to world-class museums, and skiing. He has also applied his surgical skills internationally, participating in a medical mission alongside craniofacial specialists in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas with Operation Good Samaritan.
