Raised on a dairy farm in western Kentucky, Dr. William L. Dowden developed a lifelong appreciation for hard work and meticulous craftsmanship long before entering medicine. After earning his medical degree from the University of Kentucky, he completed intensive general and plastic surgery residency training, serving as chief resident before establishing his private practice in Lexington in 1976.
