Biography

Dr. Richard E. Albin was a highly respected Denver-based plastic surgeon whose distinguished medical career spanned several decades. A graduate of Cornell University and Chicago Medical School, Dr. Albin dedicated his life's work to advancing the standards of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He served as chief of plastic surgery at the University of Colorado Medical School and notably developed the first craniofacial program in the Rocky Mountain region, helping countless children overcome severe congenital facial and skull deformities. Beyond his pioneering academic contributions, Dr. Albin was known for his deep compassion, extending pro bono reconstructive care to injured service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Colleagues and patients alike remembered him as a gifted clinician with exceptional aesthetic insight, a gentle demeanor, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of those he treated.
