Dr. Peter Geldner, MD is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the founder of The Geldner Center, with locations in Chicago and Oak Brook, Illinois. His path to medicine began with a moment he never forgot — as a teenager, he watched a young burn victim proudly show off the work of his plastic surgeon, and knew instantly that this was what he wanted to do. Born in Warsaw, raised in Israel, and immigrated to the United States at age six, Dr. Geldner went on to attend Johns Hopkins University before earning his MD at the University of Wisconsin. He trained at the University of Chicago, completed his plastic surgery residency in Detroit and Galveston, and returned to Chicago where he became Chief of Plastic Surgery at Michael Reese Hospital. In 2003, he opened The Geldner Center as a concierge-style practice built around one principle — the patient comes first. He has since performed tens of thousands of procedures and is particularly renowned for breast surgery, having completed over 10,000 breast procedures alone. A past president of the Chicago Society of Plastic Surgeons and a perennial Top Doctor honoree from Castle Connolly and U.S. News & World Report, he's also the go-to expert when national media outlets need a plastic surgery voice — appearing on ABC, NBC, Fox News, and WGN among others. He speaks English, Spanish, and Polish, and brings that same curiosity and care to every patient he sees.
