A lifelong Baltimore native, Dr. Michele Shermak discovered her calling for plastic surgery early in life, inspired by the transformative power of reconstructive pioneers and a deep-seated love for math, science, and art. After earning her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, she made history as the first graduate of the combined general and plastic surgery residency program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She further refined her craft through specialized aesthetic fellowships in Nashville before spending over a decade shaping future surgeons on the faculty at Johns Hopkins, ultimately serving as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Today, Dr. Shermak brings that elite academic rigor and an artist's eye to her private practice in Lutherville-Timonium, specializing in complex body contouring, breast surgery, and facial rejuvenation. Known for her down-to-earth demeanor and meticulous attention to detail, she views every procedure as a partnership, listening intently to ensure her patients' personal goals guide the surgical plan. For Dr. Shermak, the most rewarding part of her work is the profound emotional connection she shares with those she helps—earning those heartfelt post-operative hugs by delivering natural, life-changing results.
