As a young girl, Dr. Marlene Welch was deeply inspired by children in need of reconstructive care, sparking a lifelong dedication to the healing arts. Combining an early background in studio art with rigorous scientific training, she approaches every surgical transformation through the refined eye of an artist and the precision of an expert surgeon. Dr. Welch earned her medical degree with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, followed by her PhD in physiology and comprehensive residency training in surgery and plastic surgery at the University of Michigan Health System. Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, she spent over a decade shaping future physicians as an academic leader, Associate Professor, Assistant Dean, and Chief of Plastic Surgery at the University of Toledo. At AM Skin Health & Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Welch blends advanced surgical skill with a genuine passion for wellness and meaningful patient connections.
