Biography

Rooted deeply in a lifelong affection for south Louisiana and a genuine desire to serve his local community, Dr. Jeffrey F. Rau chose to return to his hometown of Houma to practice medicine. Before specializing in aesthetics and reconstruction, Dr. Rau built a rigorous foundation as a trauma and acute care surgeon. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where he received the E. Edward McCool Jr. Award, before completing his general surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and his plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Rau combines meticulous technical precision with an artistic eye. Outside of the operating room, he enjoys carpentry, playing the piano, running, and spending time outdoors. Known for his compassionate approach and commitment to patient safety, Dr. Rau treats every individual like family, helping patients restore confidence and look as vibrant on the outside as they feel within.
