Growing up in Michigan, there was an early fascination with the blend of scientific rigor and artistic expression that defines plastic surgery, a path Dr. Fred Bieker would ultimately embrace. His medical journey began at the University of Michigan Medical School, followed by rigorous general surgery training at Naval Hospital San Diego. He then honed his specialized skills during a plastic surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego, establishing a strong foundation in both reconstructive and aesthetic techniques. For Dr. Bieker, effective patient care is deeply personal. He takes great satisfaction in truly listening to each individual, understanding their unique aspirations, and then meticulously planning procedures that yield beautifully natural, harmonious results. His objective is always to enhance a patient's inherent beauty, ensuring they feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Since opening his practice in La Jolla in 1996, he has become a respected leader in the field, serving as Past President of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. He also shares his expertise as an Associate Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. Outside of his practice, he enjoys an active lifestyle, finding joy in golf, surfing, skiing, and traveling, which perhaps informs his appreciation for balance and natural aesthetics in his professional life.
