Biography

Growing up in a hardworking single-parent household outside of Boston as one of five brothers, resilience and determination were instilled at an early age. Before pursuing medicine, competitive drive led to playing college basketball and earning a black belt in tae kwon do, while determination meant working daytime shifts in a Harvard Medical School research lab and attending classes by night. That profound early discipline shaped a lifelong commitment to meticulous care and precision. Driven by a genuine passion for restoring form and confidence, rigorous general surgery training was followed by specialized plastic surgery residency and advanced fellowships in microsurgery, hand surgery, and aesthetic surgery. Academic leadership followed as the directorship of the UMKC Plastic Surgery Program, alongside serving as an associate professor before transitioning to private practice in the Kansas City area. Beyond the operating room, humanitarian efforts have taken decades of mission trips to Central America to provide life-changing reconstructive procedures for indigent patients. Away from work, joy is found spending time with family, reading, scuba diving, bicycling, and playing tennis. Patients consistently discover a compassionate listener who blends decades of academic excellence with deep artistry, ensuring every customized care plan honors individual goals with utmost warmth and safety.
