Growing up with a general surgeon for a father, the world of medicine was always close to Dr. Eugene Elliott. It was through this early exposure that he discovered the profound, transformative power of plastic surgery, especially observing reconstructive hand surgery. He was captivated by the ability to restore both form and function, understanding the deep impact it could have on someone's life, a realization that shaped his own path. His journey in medicine began with undergraduate studies at Harvard University, followed by his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He refined his surgical skills through a general surgery residency at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York and a plastic surgery residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Driven by his early fascination, he pursued a specialized fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the renowned Buncke Clinic in San Francisco. This comprehensive training equipped him with expertise in intricate reconstructive techniques. Today, as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Southern Maryland Hospital Center and an active participant in medical missions globally, Dr. Elliott extends his healing touch to underserved communities. When he's not helping patients achieve their goals, he embraces life with his wife and three children. An avid cyclist, he loves exploring new trails, and his passion for photography often leads him to capture nature's beauty during his travels, revealing a person who appreciates precision and artistry both in and out of the operating room.
