Approaching plastic surgery with a discerning artist's eye, Dr. David A. Vander Wall understands that true beauty lies in enhancing one's natural form. He finds deep satisfaction in helping individuals feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin, fostering an environment of open communication and realistic expectations. His journey into medicine began with a desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives, leading him to complete his General Surgery residency at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center and further specialize in Plastic Surgery at Butterworth Hospital. Beyond his daily practice, Dr. Vander Wall is driven by a profound sense of humanitarianism, regularly participating in medical missions to Central America to provide life-changing reconstructive surgery for children born with cleft lip and palate and other congenital deformities. This commitment to healing also extends to his role as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. When he is not in the operating room or on a mission trip, he cherishes time outdoors with his family, often skiing down slopes or enjoying a bike ride, believing that true care encompasses a holistic approach to well-being.
