Dr. Hannan grew up in Rockaway Beach, New York, later moving to Connecticut to earn a degree in biology and music at Yale University. It was during her time at Yale, while exploring architecture and art history, that she discovered a deep appreciation for the intersection of form and function. This artistic eye led her to Washington, D.C., where she earned her medical degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed a rigorous six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital. Beyond her private practice, Dr. Hannan is deeply committed to service and public health advocacy. She serves as an assistant professor at Georgetown, where she takes pride in mentoring young women pursuing surgical careers, and has lobbied on Capitol Hill to protect safety standards and patient access to breast reconstruction. She also serves as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center, providing reconstructive care to veterans, and regularly volunteers both locally with Catholic Charities and internationally on medical missions to Ecuador. In her private practice, Dr. Hannan focuses on creating an unhurried, private sanctuary where open communication thrives. She champions the use of collaborative tools like 3D simulation to help patients intuitively understand their options, ensuring every individual feels fully heard, confident, and empowered to achieve elegant, natural-looking results.
