Dr. Barbara B. Hayden discovered her fascination with structure and form early on, initially pursuing technical illustration before earning her degree in Molecular Biology from UCLA and advancing through its School of Medicine. After completing both her general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at UCLA, she served as a full-time faculty member in the UCLA Department of Surgery and held leadership roles as Director of Outpatient Surgery and Director of Reconstructive Surgery. Since establishing her private practice in Santa Monica in 1990, Dr. Hayden has combined rigorous academic precision with a deeply personal, artistic touch. Her path into medicine is rooted in an innate appreciation for anatomical detail and a steadfast dedication to patient advocacy. Whether guiding individuals through complex reconstructive journeys or aesthetic transformations, she creates a warm, reassuring environment where patients feel genuinely heard and cared for.
