Biography

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Dr. Ankit Desai returned home to build a premier surgical career rooted in precision, artistry, and deep community ties. After studying biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University, he entered the accelerated Junior Honors Medical Program to earn his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He subsequently completed his plastic surgery residency at Saint Louis University and an advanced aesthetic fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a founding partner of the Florida Plastic Surgery Group and Lead Plastic Surgeon at the Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Desai is widely recognized for his mastery in complex microsurgical breast reconstruction as well as refined cosmetic surgery. He approaches every patient relationship with profound empathy and individualized care, believing that true surgical excellence balances structural safety with harmonious, natural-looking results. Outside the operating room, he is heavily invested in philanthropic health initiatives, having served as President of the Board of Directors for Susan G. Komen North Florida.
